Dave Solazzo
Dave Solazzo was born into a musical family in Syracuse, New York–his father is one of Central New York’s leading jazz bassists. At the age of seven Dave began studying classical piano but his interest soon turned to jazz after being inspired by the piano playing of Oscar Peterson and Bill Evans. By the time he was fifeteen, he was already playing professionally with some of the finest musicians in and around Central New York.
Educated at Berklee College of Music and SUNY Purchase College, Dave has had the opportunity to perform with such jazz luminaries as Ralph LaLama ( Village Vanguard Orchestra), Jerry Weldon ( Harry Connick Jr. Big Band) and Chuck Mangione, among others. In addition to performing, Dave also maintains an active teaching schedule and has served as an adjunct professor of music at Cayuga Community College in Auburn, New York.
